I grew up in Alabama, and then I spent eight years in Mississippi before moving to Georgia to teach at a state college.
I have loved books for as long as I can remember, and my tastes are pretty widely varied: my favorite authors include Flannery O’Connor, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, George R.R. Martin, Faulkner, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Shakespeare, and John Donne. I especially love classical literature: Homer, Sophocles, and Euripides.
I also read a lot of comic books and graphic novels. Some of my favorite comic writers and artists include Ed Brubaker, Jason Aaron, Kurt Buseik, Alex Ross, Frank Miller, and Mark Waid.
My writing is almost as varied as my literary tastes. That He May Raise is a product of my love for southern writing, but my current project is a series of post-apocalyptic fantasy novels called Animus. I also blog extensively on politics and superheroes, and I have a book coming out later this year on that same subject.
